The City of Cape Town authorises you to view, copy, download and print the photographic and video images provided, consistent with the terms herein but only in connection with the promotion of Cape Town as a forward-looking, globally competitive city and a great place to visit, live, work, study, play and invest.

ANY USE IS SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

1. Images may not be posted or distributed in any manner other than for purposes consistent with this Agreement,
2. Images may not be used for advertising or commercial purposes.
3. Images may not be modified from their original form,
4. Logos, images, b-roll, area maps and editorial content may not be altered in any way, and
5. Copyright, trademark, and other proprietary notices must be included. Images and b-roll must carry appropriate credit line, “Courtesy of the City of Cape Town” unless otherwise noted when the photos are provided.

Before the City of Cape Town grants permission to use its logo or a hyperlink on printed materials or a website, the city must review and approve placement, content and quality. If permission is granted, a copy of the piece must be forwarded to the City of Cape Town’s Place Marketing unit for approval prior to production to ensure appropriate style guide and brand elements are represented. A copy of the final printed piece must be forwarded upon completion.

Materials may not be used in any manner which, in the opinion of the City of Cape Town, is obscene, scandalous, libellous, and unlawful or that would in any way disparage or humiliate Cape Town or the City of Cape Town as a destination, its brands or services. Materials will not be used in any manner that implies that the City of Cape Town is endorsing or promoting your products or services or the products or services of any third party.

These terms and conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the law of the Republic of South Africa; any dispute arising out of the use of this website will be referred to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Republic of South Africa.

We make no guarantees that the Site is free from so called computer viruses. It is strongly recommended that you check for such viruses before downloading it or its contents.

We reserve the right to withdraw or amend the service we provide on the Site without notice.

The City of Cape Town has the right to remove any material or posting made using the material downloaded on our website, if such material does not comply with our conditions listed. Furthermore, we shall take the necessary action against any person for breaching the terms and conditions by instituting proceedings in a court of law.

We reserve the right to amend or replace the Terms and Conditions at any time. If we make any substantial changes, we will notify you by posting a prominent notice on the Site.

By using the site, requesting information or requesting to download specific items from the site, the city will have access to your personal information. You consent to having the information provided verified.
